Most Watched Pakistani Drama in 2018-19

Suno Chanda is drama played on Hum TV during 2018-19. Farhan, Iqra and Nadia Afghan were in the lead roles. Story of drama highlights the relationship between the members of a combined joint family system where there is humor, wit, satire, irony, and simile along with a message for the audience. Iqra Aziz and Farhan Saeed are playing the role of love birds who are actually first cousins. They are best friends who turned against each other after their forced engagement on the wish of their grandfather. Ajiya is portrayed as a talented girl who scores good marks in all the examinations. She wants to get higher education from abroad on the basis of scholarship. Iqra Aziz is a young girl of 22 years who played this role with such grace and style that his contemporaries cannot even dream about. Her expressions, dialogue delivery, comic timing according to the situation is effortless and matchless. Farhan Saeed who is a renown singer across Asia has done more than justice to the role. Arsal Jamshaid Ali is an ordinary boy who is enjoying on the money of his father.Dialogue delivery and expressions of Arsal are epic but Farhan lacks skills in some comic scenes. Still, as a pair, they have justified their prescribed roles. The idea of their relationship is taken from famous cartoons, “Tom and Jerry”.
Apart from the relationship of Ajia Nazakat Ali and Arsal Jamshaid Ali, one cannot forget the role of Nadia Afghan as, “Chano”. I cannot think anyone could have done justice to the role of Chano apart from Nadia Afghan. Chano immortalized the role with her accent, style, elegance, bubbliness, straightforwardness, and timing. She had the nerve to turn the comic scene onto serious. Chano is a typical Punjabi mother who is ready to fight till the end. She is possessive and broad-minded at the same time. There is diversity in Chano’s role because she is playing the role of a mother and a wife.
Adnan Shah Tipu as Jalal Khan is one of the influential characters of the drama. There is variety and mixture to the role because Jalal is mean, mischievous and arrogant. The role of Jalal khan has many ups and downs as he is always a part of an ongoing conspiracy. Adnan Shah has played the role of a Pathan effortlessly.
Noteable mentions among the rest of the cast who have put a dominant role are Farhan Ally Agha, Samina Ahmad, Sohail Sameer, Nabeel Zuberi, and Syed Mohammad Ahmed. Suno Chanda was aired during the holy month of Ramadan. There are two seasons of the drama. Suno Chanda has got a tremendous amount of praise from the audience and critics. The drama series has set the new records by breaking all the previous records of Hum TV. Iqra Aziz, Farhan Saeed, and Nadia Afghan have won many awards for their performances respectively during the Lux Style Awards in 2018-19.
At last, I would suggest you to watch this series on Youtube as there are so many things that one can learn while watching the drama. We should watch our own Pakistani content rather than watching Bollywood and Hollywood because Pakistani drama depicts Pakistani culture, norms traditions, pros and cons of the society. Learning from other's mistakes is wisdom while waiting to make your own is ego.

  11. I think Iqra Aziz was the only disappointing one in the 2nd season as her acting was often over the top and it seemed like she was trying too hard to recreate "Ajiya" a character she played last time with ease.

    1. There was no problem in her acting and competence but i would say that script and director didn't do the justice. As Ajiya's character was so messed up and content given to her could have written more better because I think she is superb and polished actress at a very young age. Overall, season 2 lacks many nuances in comparison to season 1.
